Our Trustee and triple round the world yachtsman Conrad Humphreys has been nominated for Yachtsman of the Year in the Classic Boat Awards 2018, following his role as Sailing Master in the Channel 4 series Mutiny.  Conrad is one of four nominees, and is nominated for his remarkable feat of navigation, when he piloted a 23ft (7m) open boat across 4000 miles of the Pacific ocean over 76 gruelling days, following in the footsteps of Captain Bligh’s famous Mutiny on the Bounty. The Channel 4 series, aired in early 2017, focused on the relationships between team leader Anthony Middleton and his assorted crew, but Classic Boat say it was Conrad’s seamanship and accuracy with the sextant, in testing conditions, that deserved the praise.

The deadline for voting is 11:59pm Wednesday 28 February 2018.
Winners will be announced in the May issue of Classic Boat, on sale on 6 April 2018.
