Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In response to the latest advice from the Government on social distancing to reduce the spread of coronavirus, the Trustees of The Island Trust have extended the suspension of all sailing operations until the end of August. If we have not already done so, we will be contacting those with bookings during this period on a rolling basis.

Sail training is a fabulous and sometimes life-changing positive activity for the young people that sail with us and we hate to think of some having to miss out on this opportunity so we will be working hard to reschedule trips either later in the season or next year. Equally, we are realistic about the current environment and are keeping the situation under regular review.

After almost 50 years of supporting young people we are determined to be here long into the future, and we are working hard to find ways to raise the funds to pull us through this crisis. We always value the support we receive, great and small. If you currently feel able to make a donation, or can introduce others who would be interested in supporting our efforts, we will be able to continue our support for young people at the time when they will need it the most.

May we take this opportunity to send our best wishes to all our staff, beneficiaries, customers, donors and friends. Undeniably there will still be some difficult times ahead but we are looking forward to the day when we can resume operations.
