2025 sees the return of Moosk into operation

We are delighted to share the news that 2025 sees the return of Moosk into operation, where we are offering a number of Adult RYA courses – Competent Crew; Day Skipper Practical; Yachtmaster Preparation and Exam. These are a great opportunity for those seeking to gain their RYA qualification on board a traditionally rigged sailing boat. Or, if you are simply looking to build your sea miles you can join any course for mile-building and honing your skills.

As often as our youth sailing programme allows we also run trips for grown-ups on our topsail schooner Johanna Lucretia. In early May we have a five night ‘all-muck-in’ Adult Tall Ship Experience where everyone is able to get involved in running the boat, from raising the sails, pulling the anchor, navigating and steering. This is a fabulous chance to experience life on board a traditional wooden sailing ship. Departing from Plymouth we’ll be sailing east or west along the south Cornwall and south Devon coast, the destination dependent on the weather conditions.

In early October we have two hands-on passage voyages for adults when our vessels return to Plymouth from the annual Small Ships race event on the Isle of Wight. This is again an excellent opportunity to build sea miles.

As you know our core focus is centered on giving young people the opportunity to sail and the weeks are now filling up fast with school, college and youth groups. We do still have space to offer many sailing opportunities for independent teenagers on Moosk and Johanna Lucretia, ranging from Adventure Sailing, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Gold Residentials and Bronze, Silver and Gold Expeditions, RYA Start Yachting, Competent Crew and Day Skipper Practical courses. Bursaries are available for eligible individuals.
